3.8. The "Project core" and "Project core" versions

Submitted by pbrunet on Mon, 06/06/2011 - 13:24

International aid projects need to be able to evolve and adapt to changes in the context. It is sometimes necessary to revise and monitor changes in certain fundamental characteristics of the project, such as its end date, its budget or its objectives or expected results. In Sigmah, these characteristics are grouped together in the concept of the Project core, which is represented by the following icon: .

The Project core can be locked in order to make sure that the basic characteristics of the project are not changed for a period.

"Project core" versions make it possible to monitor and save all the modifications made to the Project core.

More concretely, the Project core is made up of the following elements in Sigmah:

  • the logical framework of the project;
  • all the indicators linked to the logical framework (only the indicator value of a locked project core can be modified, whereas its other characteristics (title, target value, etc.) are not modifiable);
  • the start and end dates of the project;
  • the planned budget of a project (or more precisely the sub-field of the budget used as a total to calculate the budget spent) ;
  • all indicators, activities and field which have been defined as "belonging to the project core".
