4.3.4. Manage indicators

The “Manage indicators” sub-tab allows you to:

Defining indicators
To create an indicator, click on the “New Indicator” button. If you have selected a line of a group of indicators in the table, the indicator that you are going to create by clicking on “New indicator” will automatically belong to this group (you will be able to move it afterwards).
See "How do you create an indicator?" for more details about creating indicators.

To modify the definition of an indicator, click on the link with the indicator’s name.

To remove an indicator, click on the line of the indicator in the table (and not on the link) to select it, then click on “Delete”.

Creating and re-naming an Indicator Group
Indicator groups make it possible to organise the indicators for a project. (see the definition of an "Indicator group"  above for more details).
To create an indicator group, click on the “New group” button. If you have selected a line in a group of indicators in the table, the group that you are going to create by clicking on “New group” will automatically belong to this group (you will be able to move it afterwards).

To rename a group of indicators, just double click on its name. Remember to click on “Save” once the group has been renamed.

Organising indicators and indicator groups
Indicators can be organised into groups. Each group can contain sub-groups, etc.
There are 3 ways to put an indicator into a group:

  • If the indicator is not yet created, select the group where you want to put it, then click on the “New indicator” button. The indicator will then be created in the selected group.
  • Open the form for modifying the indicator by clicking on the link below its name, modify the group of the indicator and click on “Save”.

  • Use “drag and drop”: click the left-hand button of the mouse on the line of the indicator to be moved, then, continuing to hold down the button, move the cursor over the group where you want to put the indicator, then release the button.


To put one indicator group into another, there are 2 possible solutions:

  • If you have not yet created the group, select the group where you want to put it, then click on the “New group” button. The group will be created in the group you have selected.
  • Use “drag and drop”: click the left-hand button of the mouse on the line of the group to be moved, then, continuing to hold down the button, move the cursor over the group where you want to put the selected group, then release the button.

Specifying indicator measurement sites
Indicator data collection sites are specified using the “Sites” tab situated to the right of the screen.

  • To specify a site, click on “New site”. For more information on specifying sites, go to "How do you create an indicator data collection site?"
  • To modify a site, click on the name of the site then on the “Edit” button
  • To delete a site, click on the name of the site, then click “Delete Site”

Visualising indicator collection sites
To visualise the collection sites of an indicator, click on the Map icon to the left of the indicator’s name in the table. All the sites where this indicator has been collected are then shown on the map.

 

Exporting indicators

To export all indicators in a spreadsheet file (Open Document Spreadsheet, or MS Excel), you just have to click on the "Export" button located on the top-right corner of the indicators table.
