6.5.1. How do you create an organizational unit model?

Submitted by pbrunet on Tue, 06/07/2011 - 15:19

To create a report model, enter its name in the empty box located just above the column "Report model name" and click on the "Add" button. A confirmation message will then be displayed on the screen. The new model automatically appears in the list.

This opens a dialog box:

Fill in the following fields:

  • Model name: name to be given to the model to be used in the Organizational unit models page. This name will never be seen by end users (e.g. Mission Model v2)
  • Organizational unit type: generic name that the organization wants to give to all the units created using this model.

For example: if the type of unit for the model is “Mission” and a unit created using this model is called “Haiti”, final users will see “Haiti Mission”  on their screens.

  • Has budget? : indicates whether the units created using this model will have a budget or not.
  • Can contain projects? : indicates whether the units created using this model are able to have projects attached or not.

Finally, click on the “Save” button in the bottom left hand corner. A confirmation message will then be displayed on the screen.
